With the temperature climbing to a summery 85 degrees today, CreamCycle, the city's newest purveyor of gourmet ice cream sandwiches (R.I.P. Sugar Magnolia), is rolling its old-fashioned, sugar-dispensing bicycle cart onto the streets today.

For now, a single mint-green CreamCycle, bearing a stash of adorably packaged frozen treats, will park outside Kushi at noon and stay till at least 1 p.m. before hitting the road.

Chef Carlos Delgado of Boveda (who launched the carts with Jeff Jetton, Nick Smith, Ryan Jetton and Alexis Thornlow) has been blending a trove of weird/awesome flavor combinations that we looked at in today's Weekend cover story. His citrusy lime ice cream pops between a salted lime cookie flecked with lime rind, and banana-habanero ice cream on a coffee cookie leaves the lips satisfyingly numb.

Each day, the bikes will tote three flavors. Today, choose from vanilla cookie with peach ice cream; a dark chocolate cookie with jalapeno ice cream; and the lemon grass-basil ice cream on a macaroon-like coconut cookie. Each is $5.

The bike's locations will change daily. If you can't flag down a bike, you can always snag a sandwich at Smucker Farms on 14th Street NW. (Bean & Bite, the 15th Street NW coffee shop, will also carry the sandwiches eventually.) Find out where the carts are by following CreamCycle on Twitter at  CreamCycleDC.
