Where to get a free doughnut on National Doughnut Day

Friday is National Doughnut Day. Here's how to celebrate appropriately.

Free doughnuts:
Krispy Kreme: Get a free doughnut on Friday, no purchase necessary.

Mama's Donut Bites: The doughnut truck will be giving doughnut bites to the first 250 people in line at 8 a.m. in Rosslyn. The truck will be parked near Wilson Boulevard and N. Lynn Street.

Almost free doughnuts:
Dunkin' Donuts: Buy any beverage, get a doughnut.

Potentially free doughnuts:
GBD: Visit the Dupont Circle doughnuttery between 8 and 11 a.m. and you can enter to win a free doughnut breakfast party.

Free doughnuts if you're lucky enough to spot them:

Not-free doughnuts for a good cause:
Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken: 100 percent of sales from Astro's "Raspberry Blueberry" doughnuts -- which are filled with an even mix of raspberry and blueberry jam -- will benefit the Fisher House Foundation. Only (only?) 200 of the specialty doughnuts will be available.
