Ghibellina opened on 14th Street this spring with one of the neighborhood's more winning cocktail bars, thanks in part to complex bitter cocktails like the Andiamo, made with rye and Carpano Antica.

On a strip filled with $12 cocktails and few discounts, it also has an excellent happy hour: $6 cocktails, $3-$4 draft beers and $5 wines, offered Tuesday through Sunday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.7 p.m.

Beginning today, it gets better. The rustic Italian small-plates shop will now add its smoky, wood-fired pizzas -- served uncut in the traditional Neapolitan style -- to the specials. The pizzas, such as the rapini-and-chili-flake-covered Bianca, will now be half-off (usual price per pizza: $13-$18).

The only nearby competition for this kind of deal? Piola, which offers $3 Peroni and $4 house wine from 5 to 8 p.m., while the staff passes out free mini-pieces of pizza. (See more food and drink deals in our 2013 Interns' Guide.)
