This is $25 of Uber Ice Cream

Shame on me for being so skeptical of Uber's ice cream delivery service. Despite Uber's advice that "demand for ice cream trucks will be very high and availability very limited," I write this to you while eating a Mrs. Fields Klondike cookie sandwich, one of five ice cream goodies that was was just delivered by my driver, Calvin Coolwhip. It worked flawlessly.

My first thought: Wow, this is delicious. And so easy!

My next thought: This was $25? If we assume each of these ice cream novelties goes for $3 at your typical community pool or standard Good Humor truck, Uber's flat rate comes with a 66 percent convenience charge. (Plus a free tanktop and sunglasses!)

My final thought? Shoot, nobody's going to pay me $5 for each of these; desserts are on me, I guess. I hope I never spend this much on ice cream again.

You have until 5 p.m. today to order your $25 of ice cream using Uber's smartphone app.
