El Centro D.F. to replace Third Edition in Georgetown

A 14th street taco and tequila joint is opening a new location in Georgetown. El Centro D.F. is scheduled to open at 1218 Wisconsin Avenue in mid-August.

The new restaurant will keep much of the menu and aesthetic of the original location, including a rooftop patio and wide selection -- over 200 different types -- of tequila and mezcal. But new menu items, like an octopus taco and four types of guacamole, including crab and tuna tartare, will be featured. The restaurant's decor is inspired by Mexico City, with Mexican newspapers incorporated into the design.

El Centro D.F.'s roof deck is one of 14th Street's busiest, and the new location replaces Third Edition, which long held one of Georgetown's most popular patios.
