&pizza, left, has a vertical advantage on Custom Fuel. (Alex Baldinger/The Washington Post)

Who will become D.C.'s Chipotle of pizza? A new competitor has just entered the ring. Custom Fuel is now open at 1747 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. It's an offshoot of the North Carolina-based, gas station-themed pizza chain Fuel, which opened its first D.C. location in 2012.
