Sticky Rice slapped with 15-day liquor license suspension

Sticky Rice, the hip sushi and noodle spot on H Street NE, has been handed a 15-day liquor license suspension by the District's Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration.

The suspension stems from a confrontation last New Year's Eve when, according to the report, one of the bar's co-owners ejected two ABRA investigators who were performing a routine compliance check; the owner claimed one of the investigators was carrying fake ABRA credentials.

Because of the altercation, Sticky Rice cannot serve alcohol from Nov. 13-27. Sticky Rice also faces a $4,000 fine and another 10-day suspension if any violations occur within the next year.

The story was first reported by Barred in DC. You can read the full ABRA report here.
