Kapnos launches happy hour tonight

(Greg Powers) Kapnos launches happy hour tonight. (Greg Powers)

We've been fans of the food and drink at Kapnos since Mike Isabella's Greek restaurant opened on 14th Street earlier this year. But we're about to fall in love with the place all over again, thanks to the new happy hour launching tonight. From 5 to 7 p.m. every weekday, the deals include $5 draft beers, $6 draft wines and $7 draft lemonade cocktails crafted by bartender Taha Ismael that are some of the top draft drinks in town. The gin lemonade, a savory combination of the sweetly smoky Batavia Arrack, grilled lemons, honey and thyme with a piney, juniper-forward gin, is very much the standout.

To snack on, there are five snacks for $5 each, ranging from Greek fries or marinated olives and cheese to plates of spanakopita and dolmades. Of particular note is the gluten-free falafel, a new recipe Isabella developed using chickpea flour. With a group, grab the $12 combo of flatbreads and a choice of three spreads.
