Lorde, the New Zealand 17-year-old who upended the charts this year with her lo-fi earworm "Royals," announced a tour today that will bring her to the District's Echostage on March 7.  Tickets, priced at $65, will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

The singer's show at the Northeast venue, which is rapidly becoming the place to see major touring electronic music acts, will mark her first Washington show, so expect tickets to go quickly.

Lorde (given name: Ella Yelich-O’Connor) is riding high at the close of 2013, picking up Grammy nominations for Record of the Year (for which she's up against juggernauts Daft Punk), Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. Her monthlong U.S. tour in March will take her to 15 cities.
