Eastern Market offers last-minute holiday shopping

Need to hunt down a last-minute gift? Can you sneak out of the office early?

The festively-decorated Flea Market at Eastern Market will have special holiday hours on Friday, Dec. 20, and Monday, Dec. 23. (Fritz Hahn/The Washington Post)

The Flea Market at Eastern Market, home to dozens of stalls selling clothes, antiques and assorted trinkets every weekend, will also be open in the Hines Junior High School parking lot from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Monday. The vendors include many of the familiar faces from the weekend: antique brooches, artsy photographs, old prints, vintage menswear, new scarves and home furnishings.

One semi-important note: There weren't any food or drink vendors this morning, so you may want to grab a cup of coffee from Peregrine before beginning your browsing.

Fritz Hahn has covered bars, drinks and nightlife for the Washington Post Weekend Section since 2003, but he also writes about everything from Civil War battlefields to sailing classes. You can find him on Twitter and Instagram.
