It's been a good week for Mount Vernon Triangle. First was Monday's opening of Alba Osteria, and now, an announcement that Silo will be opening Saturday at 5 p.m.

As Tom Sietsema wrote last month, veteran C.F. Folks chef George Vetsch's newest gig will be at the 60-seat restaurant at 919 Fifth St. NW, with a focus on French- and Swiss-inspired American food. Entrees, from $17-$24, include vegan fried butternut squash, lamb loin and a veal neck roast.

As an appetizer, guests can snack on frog legs, perhaps paired with one of the restaurant's cocktails, like the "Scotch Striptease," named for the restaurant's past inhabitant, an adult video store. It's scotch, poured over a large ice cube made of hard cider and liquid smoke, and garnished with a strip of bacon. The rest of the cocktail menu is still being developed, but you can check out the dinner menu and the beer and wine lists below.
