West Coast party rapper ScHoolboy Q, who this week hit a high mark by snagging the No. 1 slot on the Billboard charts with his new record, Oxymoron, is set to hit the Fillmore Silver Spring on Friday, and though his first show is sold out, tickets are still available for the 11 p.m. show. Tickets are $25; you'd do well to get them now.

For fans of the eerie, surrealist pictures painted by West Coast rappers of the 1990s, Q and his Black Hippy cohort can feel like a trip down memory lane. (Folks who went to D.C.'s own Trillectro festival in its first year will remember that he was one of its bright spots.) Since we can't quite post his video for "Man of the Year" and keep our jobs, head to Spotify to give the record a listen. (Pay special attention to the go-go beat in "Los Awesome.")
