There's still snow on the ground, but spring is in the air: the Capital Weather Gang expects sun and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s on Saturday, perfect weather for having a beer outdoors. Garden District opened its doors for the season last Saturday, and two more of our favorite outdoor drinking destinations will follow suit tomorrow.

Dacha, the German-style beer garden in Shaw, will open at noon. Dacha had planned to have an indoor component this year, including a kitchen and permanent bathrooms to replace a row of portable toilets. However, the bar didn't get its permits in time, says owner Ilya Alter, and construction will begin "after Oktoberfest."

Because there's no kitchen, customers are invited to bring their own food;  we recommend sandwiches from Sundevich or snacks from the new Giant a few blocks away. Expec to find a dozen draft beers, including the excellent Weihenstephaner Korbinian, Fruh Kolsch and cherry-flavored B Nektar Cherry Mead  from Chicago.

Over in Trinidad, Bardo Beer Garden will open Saturday at 1 p.m. While the planned brewpub isn't completed, there's plenty of room for corn hole and hanging out at the bar. (The bar is eagerly tweeting about the Rogue beers that will be on tap this weekend, including Shakespeare Stout and XS Imperial IPA.) As always, the lot is dog-friendly.
