Not even the most upset-minded forecaster could have predicted the matchup presented by the Monument Madness finals. The Final 4 saw the sixth-seeded National Seabee Memorial overwhelm the second-seeded Lincoln Memorial, while the seventh-seeded National Fire Dog Monument emphatically ended the storybook run of the Jim Henson and Kermit statue. What happens when two Cinderella teams meet for the chance to determine which D.C. monument stands supreme? We'll find out today.

The matchup that follows is the final round of Monument Madness. The poll is now closed.

(6) National Seabee Memorial vs. (7) National Fire Dog Monument

Both the Seabee and the Fire Dog have enjoyed charmed paths through the first four rounds of the tournament. The Seabee edged a symbol of freedom and leadership in Nelson Mandela; the iconic U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial; and the towering figure of President Abraham Lincoln. Will the Seabee take his final foe for granted? He shouldn't. The high-scoring Fire Dog must be taken seriously after upsetting the mighty Second Division Memorial in the Elite 8, and also beating back challenges from the plucky Roscoe the Rooster and the dual-species tag-team of Jim Henson and Kermit. The final round looks like true toss-up, and a thrilling conclusion to Monument Madness.
