Amsterdam Falafelshop opens in Clarendon on Thursday

Amsterdam Falafelshop continues its march toward region-wide fast-casual domination when it opens its fourth location (and first in Virginia) tonight at 3024 Wilson Blvd. in Clarendon.

The menu is the same as 14th Street's Falafelshop: Guests have their choice of a pita or a bowl, and the latter is priced by weight. The new location should be a boon to the neighborhood's late-night bar-goers, open until 3 a.m. Thursday-Saturday nights, 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and midnight Sunday and Monday.

Amsterdam is franchising rapidly: A L'Enfant Plaza shop is on the horizon, and the chain has expanded to Boston, Salt Lake City and Dallas. Other Amsterdam Falafel locations within D.C. are in the works, too.
