Mike Isabella is set to expand his presence to all three parts of the DMV. By this summer, there will be a Kapnos in the District, Virginia and now Maryland too, with the announcement today that Isabella will be opening Kapnos Kouzina in Bethesda. The original Kapnos opened on 14th Street in 2013, and a Kapnos Taverna is expected to open in Ballston later this month.

According to a press release, Kouzina's cooking will be "more traditional and classic than its sister restaurants." While favorites from the original Kapnos will make it onto the menu, there will also be distinct Bethesda-only dishes such as Greek spiced crispy chicken with attiki honey and whole branzino in spicy clam broth. The Bethesda location will open for weekday lunch. The restaurant is expected to open later this summer.
