In honor of Halloween, Tseng plans to draw on the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe for her inspiration. (The full menu is below.) The bookish surroundings should blend nicely with the beverages: Visitors can get and drink, pick a book off the shelves and settle in. Petworth Citizen chef Jerry Zawacki is creating a short menu of snacks that will only be available in the Reading Room.
There's more good news on the horizon: Starting Nov. 12, Dan Searing, a co-owner of Room 11 and the author of "The Punch Bowl," and Carlie Steiner, formerly of Barmini and now owner of Stir Bartending Co., will take over the Reading Room on Thursday nights, though the details of their series aren't set in stone yet.
Here's the menu of Poe drinks for this weekend's grand opening. All selections are $14.
