As bar and spirits director at Neighborhood Restaurant Group, Jeff Faile had his hand in more than a dozen eateries around the area. That number will significantly drop at his new gig.

Chef Aaron Silverman has hired Faile to be beverage director at Rose's Luxury and Pineapple and Pearls, his pending cafe-by-day, prix-frixe-by-night spot next door to Rose's.

After a little more than two years with NRG, the move "just seemed like the right thing to do," said Faile, whose previous employers include Fiola and Palena. He'll wrap up his tenure with NRG shortly after Valentine's Day and start with Silverman's team Feb. 23.

"Aaron is getting a great talent and a great guy. We've really enjoyed working with Jeff and appreciate everything he has done for our restaurants and specifically our bars," said NRG founder Michael Babin. "We look forward to following his next chapter."

Faile met Silverman through his wife, Nicole Jennings, who was working the front of the house at 2941 while Silverman was in the kitchen at the Falls Church restaurant. The two men then became friends. "I just really like his philosophy," Faile said of Silverman. "He's definitely doing some interesting things when it comes to his employees."

Faile said he'll be focusing on beer, spirits and cocktails at his new job, with wine largely remaining under the purview of Pineapple and Pearls general manager Andrew Limberg.

While Faile has been brought on with responsibility for both of Silverman's restaurants, he'll be spending much of his time for now focusing on Pineapple and Pearls. Silverman plans to debut the cafe first, followed by dinner service. When will that be? Stay tuned.

"It's going to be fun and special," Faile said.

Correction: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated that Jeff Faile met Aaron Silverman while working at 2941 in Falls Church. They met through Faile's wife, who worked at 2941 at the same time as Silverman. This version has been updated.
