Wednesday is International Women's Day, which coincides with the “A Day Without a Woman” protest, similar to last month's “A Day Without Immigrants.”

Several restaurants and bars around the region are offerings specials to mark the day. Here's a sampling, which we'll update as we hear more.

Buffalo & Bergen: Sangria on tap all day for $5, with drink proceeds going to My Sister's Place. 1309 Fifth St. NE.

Compass Rose: Free Compass Rose cocktail for women. "Khachapuri dialogue" dinner at 9 p.m. with speakers, focused on social justice issues. 1346 T St. NW.

Denizens Brewing Co.: Opening early at noon, with happy hour specials all day for women. 1115 East-West Hwy., Silver Spring.

Eat the Rich: Special cocktail menu from 7 p.m. to midnight. A portion of the proceeds goes to My Sister's Place. 1839 Seventh St. NW.

Fare Well: All-night happy hour starting at 5 p.m. Ten percent of proceeds benefit House of Ruth. 406 H St. NE.

Nido: Women receive 20 percent off their check. Two male staffers and volunteering friends and family will be working. There will be a full bar and limited food menu from 5:30 to 10 p.m., and a portion of proceeds will cover hourly wages for female staff; surplus proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood. 2214 Rhode Island Ave. NE.

On Rye: Free rugelach with the purchase of a Stumptown coffee. A portion of the day's proceeds will go to the Patricia Handy Place for Women. 740 Sixth St. NW.

Town Tavern: Happy hour specials run until 9 p.m. for everyone and all night for women. Ten percent of bar sales go to #BeBoldForChange. 2323 18th St. NW.
