Amelia Currin, a 17-year-old from rural North Carolina, survived all the stress of the college-admissions process — or so she thought. She writes about how she found out that the president of Sweet Briar College, the small private women’s college in Virginia she expected to attend in the fall, announced the school would shut down forever this summer.
