Stephens City, Va., located south of Winchester, is one of the few places left with a genuine, old-fashioned drive-in theater.

On Sept. 12, 13 and 14, the Family Drive-In Theatre is offering three nights of Civil War films. The showings are a fundraiser for the nearby Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation that will be hosting the 150th anniversary of that battle on Oct. 15.

On Sept. 12 and 13, “Gods & Generals” and “Gettysburg” will be shown, and on Sept. 14, “Gone With the Wind” and “Glory” will be the featured movies. The first movie will start about 7:45 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Admission for adults is $8; children, ages 3 to 11, pay $4. Children age 2 and younger get in free. Credit and debit cards are accepted at the ticket booth and concession.
