Here’s a first look at ‘The Maya Rudolph Show’

The pilot of “The Maya Rudolph Show” airs May 19, with the potential for future episodes — which would obviously be good for Rudolph, a woman Tressie McMillan Cottom recently described as “criminally under-appreciated and underutilized in Hollywood.” Rudolph, a former “Saturday Night Live” star, was the delightfully narcissistic scene-stealing talk-show host in the TV series “Up All Night.”

Soraya Nadia McDonald covered arts, entertainment and culture with a focus on issues surrounding race, gender and sexuality.
