They have a name for the self-driving car at Mercedes Benz: the “exclusive cocoon.”

“Mankind has been dreaming of autonomous cars since the 1950s,” said Dieter Zetsche, head of Mercedes-Benz, as the Associated Press reported. The company unveiled its F 015 Luxury in Motion at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on Monday.

It’s still a “concept” car, meaning Mercedes has no conception of when it might be in production. But here it is anyway — and it looks a lot slicker than this old thing Google is trying to get us excited about.

“Quality time in private space will be the true luxury goods in the future,” Zetsche told Mashable.

In sum: cooler than “The Jetsons.”
