Manhunt, Day Seven: Two convicted killers who pulled off an elaborate escape from a maximum-security prison in upstate New York were still on the lam Friday as the search intensified.

More than 800 law enforcement officers are now looking for fugitives Richard Matt and David Sweat, who used power tools to break out of Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, N.Y., last Friday night or early Saturday morning.

A local prosecutor said police tracking dogs picked up the fugitives’ scent at a gas station not far from the prison, then followed it east, to the town of Cadyville.

The New York State Police said the search is focused along State Route 374, in the town of Plattsburgh on the Saranac River.

Here are some scenes from the area in northeastern New York where the ground search is focused.
