Nationals vs. Cardinals discussion thread: Game 130

The Nationals begin a marquee four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals, who trail the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central race, but are in prime position in the wild card race. The defending World Series champions have a good pitching staff, but an even better, more potent offense, the third-highest scoring in the majors. The Nationals, who have the best pitching staff in baseball, snapped a five-game losing streak with an offensive outpouring in Miami on Wednesday. Edwin Jackson (7-9, 3.72 ERA) will take the mound against his teammates, with whom he won a ring last season. He will be opposed by left-hander Jamie Garcia (3-6, 4.15 ERA).

As always, talk about the game here. And follow the action here.

James Wagner joined the Post in August 2010, wrote about high school sports across the region for two years and has covered the Nationals since the middle of the 2012 season.
