Nationals vs. Phillies discussion thread: Game 156

John McDonnell/WP

Gio Gonzalez takes the mound against the Phillies, hours after New York Mets knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, his foremost competition for the NL Cy Young Award, won his 20th game. Gonzalez (20-8, 2.84 ERA) is 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA over 19 innings in three starts against the Phillies this season. He will be opposed by right-hander Tyler Cloyd (2-1, 3.86 ERA). The Nationals’ magic number is four with seven games to go. As always, talk about the game here.

James Wagner joined the Post in August 2010, wrote about high school sports across the region for two years and has covered the Nationals since the middle of the 2012 season.
