The times for spring training games were announced today, with the Nationals scheduled to host day home games at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla. at 1:05 p.m. and night home games at 6:05 p.m.

Pitchers and catchers report in a little under a month, on Feb. 12, and position players on Feb. 15. The first spring training game is a week later on Feb. 23 against the New York Mets in Port St. Lucie at 12:10 p.m. The first home spring training game is a day later, on Feb. 24, against the Miami Marlins at 1:05 p.m. The Nationals will play 32 games in the Grapefruit League, including 15 at home.

The Nationals will play home-and-away games against the American League champion Detroit Tigers, on March 17 and 22 and NLDS foe St. Louis Cardinals on March 2 and 3. For the full schedule and game times, check the Nationals website.

Recently, MASN announced that it will broadcast six exhibition games in HD: Feb. 28 at 6:05 p.m. against the Mets; March 8 at 1:05 p.m. against the Cardinals; March 16 at 6:05 p.m. against the Houston Astros; March 22 at 1:05 p.m. against the Tigers; March 24 at 1:05 p.m. against the Atlanta Braves; and March 29 at 2:05 p.m. against the New York Yankees at Nationals Park.

This year’s spring training schedule is earlier than normal because of the World Baseball Classic, the first round of which will start March 2, and the finals are from March 17 through 19 in San Francisco.
