Roger Bernadina said in an e-mail that test results on his wrist were negative and no bones were broken after being hit by a pitch in a game Sunday.

As a precaution, Bernadina is out of the starting lineup with a wrist bruise on Monday against Cuba in the double elimination round of the World Baseball Classic but added he is “ready pinch run or something else.”

The Nationals backup outfielder, who has been starting in center for the Netherlands in the tournament, was pulled after being hit by a pitch in the sixth inning of Sunday’s 16-4 loss to Japan in the WBC.
