After the fourth straight loss and another meager offensive performance, Nationals Manager Davey Johnson called for more changes to the lineup, “just shake some things up a little bit.” He added Steve Lombardozzi to the lineup and will hit second behind Denard Span. He moved Jayson Werth, who has been more aggressive at the plate this season, and split up the two left-handers with him. Werth is hitting .259/.302/.432.

Rookie Anthony Rendon, called up on Sunday to play third while Ryan Zimmerman was on the disabled list, sits on Thursday. Adam LaRoche returns to the lineup after Johnson gave him a mental day.
