Tonight’s Nationals lineup: Bryce Harper, Denard Span out

(Alex Brandon / AP) (Alex Brandon / AP)

The Nationals are using a lineup without all three of their starting outfielders against Clayton Kershaw tonight. Bryce Harper is out after getting 11 stitches last night, Jayson Werth is on the disabled list and Denard Span has no clear ailment. It seems likely Davey Johnson just wanted to get him one night off this 10-game trip, and so why not against a lefty like Kershaw? We’ll see.

In any event, the Nationals are going with an outfield of Steve Lombardozzi, Eury Perez and Tyler Moore from left to right. You’d usually have to watch a game on March 14, not May 14, to see that trio together, but here they are. File under: So Crazy It Might Work.

1. Danny Espinosa, 2B

2. Steve Lombardozzi, LF

3. Ryan Zimmerman, 3B

4. Ian Desmond, SS

5. Adam LaRoche, 1B

6. Tyler Moore, RF

7. Wilson Ramos, C

8. Eury Perez, CF

9. Dan Haren, SP
