Sometime earlier this month, Susan Johnson, Davey’s wife, was asked what she thought about his scruff. “Oh, jeez!” she replied. Maybe no one benefited more from the Nationals’ first walk-off win of the season than Susan: The occasion convinced Johnson to finally shave his scraggly, white goatee.

The Nationals still need to get their offense on track after managing a measly three runs in a game Jeremy Hefner started. They’ll face Dillon Gee tonight, with Dan Haren on their side. They enter tonight tied for second place after the Phillies won this afternoon — if they lose, they’ll fall into third. Talk about the game right here.
