Nationals-Pirates discussion thread: Game 99

(John McDonnell/The Washington Post)

Dan Haren (4-10, 5.61 ERA) makes his first start after the all-star break, and his third since coming off the disabled list. His previous two were encouraging because there were gradual signs of improvement. The shape of the Nationals’ second half will depend on him and Ross Detwiler’s health. His performance on Monday will help provide more clarity to the situation. Right-hander Charlie Morton (1-2, 3.19 ERA) toes the rubber for the Pirates. The lineups are here. As always, talk about the game here.

James Wagner joined the Post in August 2010, wrote about high school sports across the region for two years and has covered the Nationals since the middle of the 2012 season.
