Tonight’s Nationals-Phillies lineups

Tonight, Stephen Strasburg will surely reach a new threshold. He will begin his start against the Phillies sitting at 158 innings. Once he records the second out of the second inning, he’ll hit 159 2/3 — one more third of an inning than he pitched last season, which may have read about.

The Nationals will face old friend Roger Bernadina, who is starting in right field. Also, former Nats utility man Pete Orr is batting sixth. With lefty Cole Hamels on the mound, Denard Span will start on the bench with Scott Hairston in left. If Span enters as a pinch hitter, his 15-game hitting streak will be on the line.
