Tonight’s Nationals-Cardinals lineup

Davey Johnson probably made the people of Cincinnati and St. Louis happy this afternoon. Last night, after the Nationals had been mathematically eliminated, Johnson looked ahead. “Now we’re spoilers,” he said. “It’s not over for us. We still have a say in this thing.”

Johnson backed up his view today by playing his regulars. The Nationals are going with the same lineup they’ve used to put together a 30-13 run. If the Nationals use any of the last week to audition younger players, it’s not happening tonight.
