Jayson Werth, who had been dealing with a minor bicep strain in recent days, will play Wednesday against the New York Mets in Viera, Nationals Manager Matt Williams said Tuesday morning. Werth was originally scheduled to make his spring debut Sunday, but was scratched before the game. He sat out of games Monday and Tuesday.

Bryce Harper, who had been dealing with the flu the past two days, returns to the lineup Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves in Lake Buena Vista. Jeff Kobernus was scheduled to make the trip to play the Braves, but he stayed behind with lingering flu symptoms, Williams said.

Gio Gonzalez is slated to make his first start of the spring Wednesday against the Mets and will be followed Thursday by Jordan Zimmermann against the Braves. Drew Storen makes his spring debut Tuesday, and Tyler Clipper will make his Wednesday. Rafael Soriano’s first spring appearance has yet to be announced, but he is slated to throw a bullpen session at Space Coast Stadium on Tuesday.
