Nationals-Braves discussion thread: Game 5

(AP Photo/John Minchillo)

Even though the Nationals managed a solitary run yesterday, many of their hitters have started fast. Jayson Werth has reached base in 11 of 19 plate appearances, Anthony Rendon has a 1.267 OPS and Adam LaRoche has six RBI in four games. It’s a stupidly small sample size, but it’s better to hit well in the first four games than not.

Down in Hagerstown, top prospect Lucas Giolito had a rough start in his 2014 debut. Facing Rome, Giolito allowed four runs, three of them earned, on six hits and two walks, striking out three.

The Nationals will try to pull even in Round 2 of 19 with the Braves. Talk about the game right here.
