After sitting out of the starting lineup the last two games with an inflamed right shoulder, Ryan Zimmerman returns. The third baseman exited Saturday’s game after an errant throw, and has been receiving treatment. An MRI revealed that he had no structural damage and he felt better already on Tuesday. He hopes to throw more from a three-quarters arm slot to alleviate the discomfort and difficulty throwing overhand. Zimmerman has said shoulder isn’t an issue when he bats.

The Nationals were originally scheduled to face right-hander Jacob Turner, but he was scratched late Tuesday night after he hurt his shoulder during batting practice. So instead, the Nationals will face left-hander Brad Hand. Slumping Bryce Harper went 1 for 4 on Tuesday but was dropped to seventh in Wednesday’s lineup. He has hit second, fifth and sixth this season, but not this low in the lineup.
