Date set for Ryan Zimmerman’s ‘Night at the Park’

Ryan Zimmerman’s fifth annual “Night at the Park,” which raises money for multiple sclerosis research, will be held on June 16 at Nationals Park. Country musicians Billy Currington and Jerrod Niemann will play at the event. There will also be live and silent auctions. Nationals players also attend.

The ziMS Foundation was founded by Zimmerman and raises money for a cure for multiple sclerosis, the disease his mother Cheryl has suffered from since 1995. Soon after being drafted in 2005, Zimmerman started his foundation, and later created a golf tournament and a yearly event at Nationals Park. Zimmerman’s contract stipulated that he be given full use of the stadium one day a year for the Night at the Park event. Last year, the ziMS Foundation raised $1 million for MS research.

The Nationals are off on June 16. Tickets start at $35 and will go on sale at noon on May 7. Tickets can be bought at nationals.com/anightatthepark.
