For Doug Fister’s first start, Wilson Ramos will be behind the plate. The Nationals are carrying three catchers because they hoped to have Ramos, fresh off the disabled list, serve as a designated hitter. But because of Adam LaRoche’s strained quad, the first baseman will instead only hit. Kevin Frandsen will make his first start of the season at first base. The Nationals face former prospect, left-handed starter Tommy Milone.
