Nationals-Athletics discussion thread: Game 37

The Nationals hope to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Athletics on Sunday. The Nationals were shut out in Doug Fister’s debut and lost Saturday after the bullpen’s late-game collapse. Gio Gonzalez (3-2, 2.91 ERA) faces his former team for the first time. It will be a battle of left-handed pitchers, as Scott Kazmir (4-1, 2.64 ERA) takes the mound for the Nationals. Washington, however, has done well against left-handers this season. They are fourth in the majors with a .805 OPS against left-handed pitchers. The lineups are here.
