Against old nemesis Tim Hudson, the Nationals will try for a four-game sweep of the Giants in San Francisco. Blake Treinen is on the hill for the Nationals, making what is likely to be his final start before Gio Gonzalez takes back his place in the rotation and Treinen heads back to Syracuse. It’s a 3:45 p.m. start on the East Coast.

Second baseman Danny Espinosa received a maintenance day off, and Kevin Frandsen is at second base. “He’s a little sore,” Manager Matt Williams said. “He’s been getting hit [by pitches]. He’s running the bases a lot, doing a lot of things.” Williams also pointed out Frandsen has  had success against Hudson. He’s 5 for 10, which doesn’t seem like much of a sample size, but there you go.
