The Nationals have essentially mixed and matched at second base since Ryan Zimmerman hurt his hamstring last week and Anthony Rendon shifted to third base. And against a right-handed starter again, Manager Matt Williams is turning to Danny Espinosa again. Espinosa started on Sunday against a right-hander and went 1 for 4.

Denard Span is the Nationals’ hottest hitter but, not to be overlooked, Wilson Ramos is torching the ball, too. He is hitting .360 since returning from the disabled list on June 26. He has only three extra-base hits in that span but he’s still producing hits at the bottom of the order.
