Many readers have asked why the Nationals are playing Sunday’s game at 5:05 p.m. instead of the standard 1:35 p.m. We asked the Nationals for an answer, and below is their answer via a spokeswoman:

“As we did last season, we are testing out a later game time as it will be a much cooler temperature for our fans and players. Many other teams have done the same thing.”

The temperature during the first inning on Sunday was 85 degrees.
