The Nationals have agreed to terms with first-round pick Carter Kieboom, according to a person familiar with the situation. Kieboom was at Nationals Park on Monday, on the field for batting practice before their series opener with the Chicago Cubs. The 28th overall pick, whose brother is a catcher for Class AA Harrisburg, was committed to Clemson.

The deal became final Friday, and terms were not disclosed. Kieboom’s slot is valued at $2,065,900, though teams can pay players more or less as long as they spend no more than the pool they are allotted for players chosen in the first 10 rounds. The Nationals’ total pool is $5,538,400.

Dane Dunning, the Nationals’ other first-round pick, plays for the Florida Gators, who are still active in the NCAA tournament with a game against Florida State on Monday night. High schooler Jesus Luzardo, their third-round choice, has not signed yet, either.
