The Nationals tendered contracts to all of their arbitration-eligible players, including Ross Detwiler, Danny Espinosa and Jerry Blevins.

The Nationals have until midnight to tender contracts to 10 arbitration-eligible players.

The Nationals reached a one-year contract with right-handed starter Jordan Zimmermann, allowing them to avoid arbitration with all seven of their eligible players.

The Nationals general manager says he is open to long-term extensions for Zimmermann and Ian Desmond.

It's a mere formality in the process before both sides exchange salary figures on Friday. But deals can still be struck to avoid arbitration.

The Nationals cut ties with starter, left-handed reliever and catcher, making them all free agents at the midnight deadline.
