KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia — American Hannah Kearney is one run away from a second Olympic gold medal in women’s moguls.
She posted a score of 21.93, the top score of the second finals round and more than good enough to advance to the medals round of these finals. On her second jump of the run, she successfully executed a grab she struggled with on the first run of the finals. Her skis crossed early in the run, but Kearney recovered to post the impressive mark.
Her U.S. teammate Eliza Outtrim put together another strong run. Her score of 21.53 put her in 5th place and also earned her a spot in the medals round.
Only the top six finishers from the field of 12 advanced to the medal round, which begins shortly here at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park. Rounding out the skiers who will vie for a medal are: Canada’s Chloe Dufour-Lapointe (21.70 in the second finals round), Canada’s Justine Dufour-Lapointe (21.64), Australia’s Britteny Cox (21.59) and Japan’s Aiko Uemura (21.15).
