Capitals star Alex Ovechkin, whom many have called the face of the Sochi Games, has touched down in Russia and is ready for his Olympics to begin.

His first task was tweeting out a photo of his snazzy new skates that he’ll wear during Olympic competition. Note the Caps skate guards.

And now that all the NHL players have arrived in Sochi, the Russian men’s hockey team could go about the business of taking a team photo.

Russia will take the ice for the first time in Sochi on Thursday, when it takes on Slovenia in the preliminary round.
