UPDATE: Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel has taken credit for the prank that was the talk of the Olympics on Thursday.

Kimmel had American luger Kate Hansen post a video of a wolf that was purportedly roaming outside her door in Sochi.

In reality, Kimmel’s staff rented a wolf, built a set in Los Angeles, filmed the creature walking around and had the video posted from Hansen’s social media accounts.

According to the Associated Press, Olympic organizers laughed off the prank and won’t be seeking any disciplinary action.

Here’s the full video explaining the prank from Kimmel’s show Thursday night, including a scene with the host in a cross-country skiing uniform.

Now it’s the second week of the Games, and Hansen, who finished 10th in the luge, is again in the headlines. This time for posting a video to YouTube of what she calls a wolf in her Sochi hallway.
