Of course, you already knew that the largest nutcracker was built in Germany and stood at just over 33 feet tall, didn’t you? PriceWeber plans to bring this honor back to America and has built a 39-foot-5-inch replica around a decommissioned bell tower on its grounds. It will have custom artwork and a functioning mouth mechanism running 24/7, according to this report from Insider Louisville. The firm is formally submitting its application to the Guinness Book of World Records.
“Our team at PriceWeber designed and developed the construction including the actuator that moves the mouth. From executive creatives to account directors, the CMO and other coworkers collaborated,” a company spokesperson said in the report.
PriceWeber is crushing a few nuts here. It is getting lots of great promotion for its client, the Louisville Ballet, whose “Nutcracker” opens this Saturday. It is showing off its hometown. It has made the giant nutcracker the centerpiece of a free community event with food, charitable donations and a drawing for tickets to the show. And, most importantly, it is showing any interested future clients just how innovative they can be.
We’ll know in about six weeks if Guinness approves.
