Chris Sununu elected as New Hampshire governor

Republican Chris Sununu has beaten Colin Van Ostern, a Democrat, in the race to be governor of New Hampshire.

They're vying to replace Gov. Maggie Hassan (D), who's running for the Senate.

Van Ostern and Sununu are both members of the Executive Council, which advises the governor.

New Hampshire voted for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic former secretary of state, in Tuesday’s presidential election.
